Since 1993, when BFM&L was appointed as local counsel to CS First Boston and Merrill Lynch in the over US$3 billion Initial Public Offering of YPF (the largest ever made in Argentina), the Firm has had a key role in most initial public offerings in Argentina, for instance, the IPOs of Banco Macro and of Banco Patagonia -the first placement of an Argentine company in Bovespa-, and in 2011, one of the most important equity deals related to an Argentine company in the last few years -the sale by Repsol of YPF's shares representing approximately 7.1% of YPF's share capital for approximately US$1.07 billion-.In addition, the Firm has participated in the only issuance of subordinated debt which qualifies as basic capital for an Argentine bank, and in the last issuance of subordinated debt which qualifies as complementary net worth for an Argentine bank.
